SHOTS Magazine announces an international call for photographic work to be considered for publication in the Autumn 2011 issue (no. 113). The theme for this issue is SELF PORTRAITS. Please visit the SHOTS website for further information and guidelines. A well-established, independent, quarterly photography journal in its 25th year of publication, SHOTS Magazine reaches an international community of photographers, educators, galleries, museums, collectors and other fine art photography enthusiasts. Submissions accepted online or by mail (CD or prints).

Scholarship opportunity: Deadlines 12 August & 16 September

Scholarship opportunity for young college women. To be eligible, Womenetics invites any registered undergraduate student in an accredited college or university to compete for ten financial and two travel awards by writing a 2500-word essay on one of nine given questions. A separate 200-word essay on how the student intends to use the award money must also be included.The Womenetics Global Women’s Initiative symposiums are designed to inspire action and collaboration among business, nonprofit, education and public policy leaders, and to build the way to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
