Call for Work: Deadline 3 January 2007

Artists are invited to submit three works each in any medium or mixed media for exhibit at "The Gnu Show," which opens January 12 at Art Coop's gnu location at 2400 South Jefferson,
just 7 blocks South from Highway 44.

Yes, after three years, there's a brand gnu Art Coop in an old auto dealer building built in 1928, largely vandalized and forgotten for the last 50 years. No more gnu cars, but now we 're ready for lots of gnu art.

For works submitted to be hung on the wall, each artist is limited to approximately 6' feet of horizontal wall space. Exceptions may be made where necessary.

For large sculpture, freestanding installations or performance work, floor to 16' ceiling space will be available as required by the work.

There is a $20 entry fee per artist (not per work), payable on installation of your work. Exhibition is limited to the first 33 artists accepted

Deadline for received submissions is January 3rd. But don't delay submitting. Submissions will be reviewed as received and accepted or rejected only until we have 33 artists accepted. 12 artist slots are already filled.

Preferred submission is by emailing JPGs of your work or give us a website address where we can see your work. Alternatively, slides may be snail mailed to: Art Coop, 2400 South Jefferson, St. Louis, MO 63104. They cannot be returned unless a postage paid self-addressed envelope is
included.

If you exhibited at Art Coop during the early days on Washington Avenue, feel welcome to call or email me and we probably won't need to see your current work before accepting you for this show.

For installations or performance work, a written description by email is acceptable. Or maybe a totally disconnected video clip while you explain your project as a voice-over.

Feel welcome to re-post this call for artists, or forward it to artists that may be interested. Thanks.
