Call for Work: Deadline 21 November 2016
AT THE FOUNDRY ART CENTRE
Color can change a viewer's perception of
practically anything. It impacts emotion, context, narrative, and one's
personal psychological response. Open to all media, Arbitrary Color is a
juried exhibition that explores not just the colors in artwork, but the entire
color palette used to accentuate the concept of the work. In focusing on one
specific element of design, Arbitrary Color challenges the artist in
their execution of all principles and elements of art design. All entries are
due by Monday, November 21, 2016. Arbitrary Color will open on Friday,
January 20, 2017 with an opening reception from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A gallery talk
will be given prior to the reception at 5:30pm. Three awards will be given at
the opening reception, two $200 juror’s choice awards and a $500 or Going Solo
exhibition juror’s choice award. This exhibition closes on Friday, March 3,
2017. Calls for entry are available online at foundryartcentre.org or at the Foundry
Art Centre, located at 520 North Main Center in St. Charles, Missouri.
