Photojournalism Grant: Deadline 12 September 2016

Visura is delighted to announce the The 2016 Photojournalism Grantwhich aims to empower photojournalists by supporting their work, mission, and career. Visura awards one winner with a $5000 cash prize.
The winner will be announced at the 2016 Lucie Awards in New York City on Sunday, October 23, 2016.
The Grant has a three-tiered mission: 1) recognize and support professional photojournalists worldwide; 2) support an ongoing or a new project; 3) get the work of photojournalists in front of key industry editors and buyers worldwide.

DEADLINE:

Visura will be accepting submissions from Thursday, August 11th, 2016 until Monday, September 12th, 2016 at 11:59pm UTC.

Visura will be accepting submissions from Thursday, August 11th through Monday, September 12th, 2016 at 11:59pm EST. The judging process will take place in three rounds. The winner will be announced at the Lucie Awards on October 23rd, 2016 in New York City. The finalists and honorable mentions will also be announced at this time via a newsletter.
Your application must include the items listed below. There is no entry fee during the application process.
What to submit: Limited one project per photographer. Each Entry consists of a photojournalism project made up of a series of images (minimum of 15 images, maximum 35), a short synopsis and a long written reflection about the project. ?
Specs: minimum 1600px on the longest dimension (22.5 inches @ 72 dpi, JPG format)
Text: Include a written reflection, in First-person, as the Project text describing the project. Ex. What is the story or project about? Where does it take place? If more than one place, please specify. If completed, when was it photographed? If ongoing, when did you begin the story/project? What is the story you want to convey?
How to submit: All submissions are made via a ?Project? created from your Visura?s dashboard.
Who can submit: Photojournalists worldwide. All Applicants must have an active PLUS, PRIME or GUILD membership account to submit for consideration.
About the Project: Projects may be ongoing or a recently completed project
Project Privacy Settings: Projects may be 'published' or 'private' within the Visura system

Each entry consists of a project entry form, a series of photographs, a project summary, and a first-person narrative related to the photographs. Entries must be received by September 12th, 2016 the 11:59pm UTC . One entry allowed per person. This is a merit-based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners.
