Call for Work: Deadline Friday, 28 March 2008

Vicars and Tarts Show
Koken Art Factory
Saturday, April 19, 2008

Koken Art Factory is looking for artists to exhibit their work at the Vicars and Tarts show on Saturday, April 19th, 2008. Vicars and Tarts parties have been a British craze for years, but now it's coming to the stateside artist community. This show is accepting art representing society's struggle between freedom of expression, sin, and sexuality.

Vicars and Tarts is open to all artists in any media so long as submission reflect the theme of the show. The art submission deadline is Friday, March 28th, 2008. Art will be judged by March 30th and notification will be sent on Monday, March 31st, 2008.

Vicars and Tarts is a one-night-only show. Artists must be prepared to allow flexibility in their schedules to drop off and pick up their art according to allotted windows for drop off and pick up times.

For works submitted to be hung on the wall, each artist is generally allowed approximately 6' feet of horizontal wall space for their three works. Exceptions may be made for large works where necessary. 2-D works must be presentable for a gallery setting – must have secure "wire" on back for hanging. NO saw-tooth hangers will be accepted. If your piece is canvas ¼ inch or greater, it does not require a frame. All other works must be framed (i.e. canvas panels, photography prints, etc). Art will be exhibited in South St. Louis in the Koken Art Factory at 2500 Ohio.

Koken Art Factory charges no gallery commission on sales of your work, but there is a $30 acceptance fee per artist (not per work), payable on installation of your work. Exhibition is limited only to the art accepted by the jury. No other art will be accepted when accepted pieces are dropped off. No Exceptions!
