Call for Work: Ongoing
Chesterfield Arts is inviting artists living/working within a 100-mile radius of St. Louis to submit work for group or solo exhibits through our community visual art program at the St. Louis County Library, Sachs Branch.
Since 2005, Chesterfield Arts has partnered with the St. Louis County Library, Sachs Branch to present the work of local artists to the more than 200,000 West County citizens who visit the library each year. To view a sampling of past exhibitions, visit our website.
Exhibits are installed in the library space for an 8-10 week period. All work must be 2-dimensional and wired, ready for hanging. Artist(s) must arrange for transportation of their work to and from the exhibit space and be available to drop off/pick up their work at the time of installation/de-installation, usually on a Monday morning at 8 am.
To be considered for a solo show, the artist must have 15-25 works available for installation, depending on size. Large works showcase particularly well on the expansive library walls. No work smaller than 8 x 10 inches unframed will be considered. If the artist does not have that many pieces available, they may still submit and be considered for a group exhibit.
Works are not required to be listed for sale. If the artist chooses to list their work for sale, Chesterfield Arts will retain a 20% commission on the sale of any of the works in the exhibit.
The library does not host opening receptions, but your work, along with any bio or statement you choose to submit, will be featured on the Chesterfield Arts website and in accompanying press materials sent to local media outlets.
To submit work for consideration, please email 3-5 digital images of your work, representative of the work to be exhibited, along with a resume and artist statement. Open exhibit slots are available as early as April 2008. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email.
