WE ARE VERY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE 32ND ANNUAL YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASE
It is the St. Louis Artists' Guild's goal to show young artists how to enter artwork into a juried competition in a professional gallery setting. We are very proud to continue the tradition of highlighting young artists for the 32nd year!
We ENCOURAGE SALES. Artists will receive 100% of the sale. Every year we have collectors come through the doors to purchase the works of upcoming young artists. Keep in mind the Juror will also look for CREATIVE AND UNIQUE works of art.
Juror: Nancy Newman Rice, The Eleanor Lawler Pillsbury Professor of Art, Director of, Art and Design Program and Studio Art Maryville University
ELIGIBILITY: Young artists MUST live within 100 miles of the St. Louis Artists' Guild and be 15 - 19 years of age.
ENTRY FEE: Artists may submit ONE ENTRY for a non-refundable fee of $5.00.
RECEIVING OF ARTWORK: Saturday and Sunday, March 1st & 2nd, 12 noon - 3 p.m. Please have all paperwork completed in advance. Forms can be downloaded from the Guild's website at www.stlouisartistsguild.org.

Artists notified Thursday, March 6, 2008
PRIZES:
Approximately $1500 CASH PRIZES
$500 TOP PRIZE ISSUED BY EMERSON
ARTWORK:
ONE ENTRY per young artist. Originals (not copied from other art, photographs or done under instruction). Juror looks for ORIGINALITY! Completed in the last three years. Not shown previously in the St. Louis Artists Guild galleries. Works should be priced and marked for sale or not for sale (NFS). WE ENCOURAGE SALES! Hanging work should have wire and screw eyes. No saw-tooth hangers. No clip frames. NO EXCEPTIONS Wraparound canvases acceptable if edges are painted and no nails or staples show. 2-D: Shall not exceed image size of 72¨h x 84¨w and 30 lbs. Diptychs and triptychs which exceed maximum size limitations for a single entry (72¨ x 84¨) will NOT be considered. Works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. Plexiglas or similar material must be substituted for glass on all works over 18¨ x 24¨. 3-D: Must not exceed 85¨h x 35¨w x 50¨d and 75 lbs. All entries must be suitably presented and ready for installation. All installation materials and written instructions, if needed, must accompany work.
COMMISSIONS: Sales are encouraged. The artists will receive 100% of the sale. Your social security number will be requested if your work sells or you win a prize.
LIABILITY AND INSURANCE: While reasonable precautions are taken to safeguard all entries, the St. Louis Artists' Guild does not insure work submitted for competitive exhibitions and is not responsible for loss or damage to any work submitted while on display or in transit. Artists are strongly encouraged in insure their own artwork. The St. Louis Artists' Guild has the right to reject any work that is unstable, unusually fragile, or does not meet the above requirements.
