Calling young photojournalists: Deadline 20 June 2008

From the British Journal of Photography: "Entrants have just three weeks left to enter one of the world's most prestigious prizes for young photojournalists.

"The Ian Parry Scholarship is run in memory of Parry, a photojournalist who died whilst on assignment for The Sunday Times during the Romanian revolution in 1989.

"Photographers attending a full-time recognised photography course or under the age of 24 years can submit a portfolio of their work and a brief synopsis of the project they would undertake if they won the award. Currently, the prize is £2500 towards the winner's dream assignment and Metro Imaging also offers £500 worth of vouchers to the winner and £250 to those awarded highly commended and commended."

The organizers tell me that "The scholarship is international so any nationality can enter, in fact we are really trying hard to attract students from overseas."
