"A true portrait can never hide the
inner life of its subject. It is interesting that in our culture we hide
and cover the body, yet our faces are naked. Through a person's face
we can potentially see everything - the history and depth of that
person's life as well as their connection to an even deeper universal
presence." - Joyce Tenneson
For this call for submissions, we seek
portraits that go beneath the surface to reveal aspects of the
subject that usually remain hidden. All capture methods and processes are
welcome.
We
are honored indeed that Joyce Tenneson will be the juror for
Intimate Portraits. She will select 35 images for exhibition in our
Middlebury, Vermont gallery and another 40 for our Online Gallery. All 75
images will be reproduced in the exhibition print catalog and
recognized on social media.
The Juror's Award and Director's Award
recipients will each be entitled to a portfolio review with Joyce
Tenneson.
