Call for Work: Deadline 12 October 2015

PhotoPlace Gallery    Stories and Secrets  Jurors: Kirsten Hoving and Emma Powell Submissions close on Monday, October 12, 2015 Gallery exhibition: November 24 - December 18, 2015 Stories and Secrets will feature photographs that whisper a secret or tell a tale. Narratives may be fiction or fact; secrets can be real or imagined. Any process is welcome. The jurors will select 35 photographs for exhibition in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery, and an addition 40 for exhibition in our Online Gallery. All 75 will be reproduced in the exhibition catalog. Submit images   About the Jurors Flight © Emma Powell  Mother and daughter Kirsten Hoving and Emma Powell have been working together for many years. Their most recent collaboration is Svala's Saga, realized after extensive travel to Iceland together. Emma Powell is an assistant professor of art at Colorado College. Powell graduated from the College of Wooster, and received her MFA in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work often examines photography's history while incorporating historic processes and other devices within the imagery.    Empty Aramanthra Nest © Kirsten Hoving  Kirsten Hoving is a Charles A. Dana Professor of Art History at Middlebury College. In between writing books and articles and teaching courses about modern art and the history of photography at Middlebury College, she makes photographs.
