B&H EDU contest: Deadline 24 June 2011

Diptych 'Scapes in Black & White Contest from B&H EDU AdvantageSubmit Your Entry

Our June Photography Contest is to create a diptych consisting of one landscape and one cityscape in black and white. You may capture the image any way you wish, but the final submitted presentation should be the two images in diptych format, meaning side-by-side or linked together in a way you choose submitted as one image file.

The two great 'scapes of photography are the Landscape and Cityscape. Photographers for years have attempted to capture the elusive elements of the world around them. Ansel Adams' images of Yosemite are the benchmark of landscape photography, while Bernice Abbot's cityscapes personify in silver the spires of NYC. Both of these masters of photography capture the spirit of place in black and white. Presenting images in "diptych" form was a common format in early Netherlands painting and in contemporary art the diptych is used as a paring device.

The images will be judged by David Brommer, popular photographer and instructor well versed from pixels to platinum. The winning submission will receive the Nik Software Silver Efex Pro 2 Software, the preeminent software for digital black and white conversions.
