Call for Work: Deadline Thursday, 31 January 2008
Art Coop is looking for a rainbow of artists to exhibit their work at COLORS, our February art show. We're celebrating diversity that goes beyond just black and white. Black, white, yellow, red, or brown; let's all sit in the front of the bus together at COLORS. Artists of every color are invited to submit three works each in any medium or media to display together in a show of multicultural solidarity. COLORS opens February 9, 2008, at Art Coop.
For works submitted to be hung on the wall, each artist is generally limited to approximately 6’ feet of horizontal wall space for the three works. Exceptions will be made for large works where necessary. For large sculpture, freestanding installations or performance art, floor to 15’ ceiling space will be available as required by the work.
Art will be exhibited in the Central West End at 4515 Olive and 462 North Taylor (three doors down the street). Art exhibited on Olive Street will hang from February 8 to 10. Art exhibited on Taylor will hang from February 8 to March 11. Please request a location when submitting art to this CFA.
Art Coop charges no gallery commission on sales of your work, but there is a $25 entry fee per artist (not per work), payable on installation of your work. Exhibition is limited to the first 40 artists accepted
Deadline for received submissions is January 31. But don’t delay submitting. Submissions will be reviewed as received and accepted or rejected only until we have 40 artists accepted. 9 artist slots are already filled. To submit your work for review, send an email with photos of your work attached, or provide a website address where we can see your work. In your submission please include your phone number(s) and the approximate size of each submitted work.
