SEEN 2007 PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST AND SHOW
Studio Altius is inviting photographers to submit artwork for SEEN 2007, a photography show of best work of St. Louis-area photographers in 2007. The finalists are selected by a blind jury. The First Prize will be $200, and the top finalist in each category will receive other awards from our sponsors. The top 50 pieces will be displayed in the SEEN 2007 show at Studio Altius throughout the month of December.
The entry fee for this show is only $10, you may enter as many times in as many categories as you wish, however, you must submit a new entry fee for every piece you enter. Categories are: Landscape; Cityscape/Architecture; Portrait; Black & White; Photo Journalism; Still Life; Wedding; Advertising (includes design). The deadline for submissions is November 9, 2007.
WEBSTER/WASH U/MERAMEC WEDNESDAYS
Are you a full time student at Webster University, Washington University, or St. Louis Community College - Meramec? If so, you can shoot in the studio for $10/hour on Wednesday mornings from 8am-noon. Regular student discount does not apply to this program.
STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
November 17, 2007, 12pm-4pm
TOPIC: MOVEMENT
This workshop is an opportunity for photographers to hone their skills of shooting human movement. Several techniques will be taught and photographers will have plenty of opportunities to experiment. The emphasis is on experiential learning, dialogue/networking with colleagues, and coaching of studio skills. We will have one model for every two photographers registered and a MUA. If the weather is good, we can shoot outside too. David Cerven, the owner of Studio Altius, will be the instructor and will be on hand to give tips, suggestions, and advice...coaching as needed. A fee of $60 will cover the models and MUA as well as studio time. Or check out some shots from the last workshop.
