Call for Work: Deadline 16 March 2020

Last held in 2017, ConTEXT III is an all media exhibition focusing on the written word’s role in the visual arts. Contemporary society is saturated with media and this exhibition showcases how intertwined the literary and visual arts are. We must ask ourselves how the words we read, and how we read them, impacts our understanding of the world. We ask artists ‘What happens when the visual arts and literary arts are fused?’

During the Opening Reception the Juror will be handing out three major awards. Two Juror’s Choice awards of $150 each and the best in show receives a “Going Solo” award. The “Going Solo” award allows the artist to be given a solo exhibition in our Gallery III space. The “Going Solo” winner from “Architectonic”, Brandin Baron, will be showcasing his detailed and deeply moving prints.

This exhibition is juried by Levi Sherman, an interdisciplinary artist in Columbia, MO.

Opening Reception Friday, May 8th, 5:30 - 8 pm. The gallery talks will be at 5:30, awards will be given at 7 pm.
