Announcing the Call for Art for SEEN 10, the 10th Annual Photography Contest and Show hosted by Studio Altius.

SEEN Showcase is March 10, 2017, 6pm
Opening Night Gala is March 11, 2017 6-11pm
Closing Night Gala is March 24, 2017 – 6-10pm
Every year, lovers of photography come to Studio Altius to view a collection of the best photography created in the previous year from St. Louis area photographers. This show is called SEEN and it celebrates photographers, professional and amateur, across all genres. It is the culmination of a contest to find the best of the best in St. Louis. We want to see what our photographers have SEEN!
Studio Altius is inviting photographers to submit artwork for their 10th Annual SEEN photography exhibition. This show exhibits some of the best photographs taken by St. Louis-area photographers during the past year. The finalists are selected by a blind jury. The Grand Prize will be a $300 award, 2nd place will be a $150 award, and 3rd place, a $100 award. Cash Prizes will also be awarded to the SEEN 10 Photographer of the Year (an award given to the overall best collection of submitted images), the People’s Choice Award Winner, the category winner of Photograph of the Decade, and the winner of the SEEN 10 Photographer’s Showcase. First place images in each category will receive hundreds of dollars in prizes from our sponsors. The top images will be displayed in the SEEN 10 show at Studio Altius from March 11-24. Additionally, a photo book will be made featuring the finalists. This book will be available for purchase during the run of the show. The entry fee for this show is only $10, you may enter as many times in as many categories as you wish, however, you must submit a new entry fee for every piece you enter. In celebration of our 10th anniversary, we are giving away 5 free entries after 10 entries have been received.
BACK AGAIN - The SEEN 10 Photographer’s Showcase. The night before SEEN 10 Opening Night Gala, we will hold a tournament style competitive photography event at Studio Altius, open to the public. All photographers who enter six or more images into SEEN 10 will automatically be included in the Photographer’s Showcase. Based on the judges results, we will seed everyone into the tournament brackets, using their best six images. Each round of the bracket will feature head-to-head matchups where everyone in attendance will vote on their favorite images. Each round, one photographer moves on in the tournament and one photographer is eliminated from the Showcase. Categories do not matter in the Showcase. Showcase results do not effect results of the SEEN judging or People’s Choice Awards.
NEW THIS YEAR: PHOTOGRAPH OF THE DECADE: All artists are allowed ONE (1) image to be submitted into the standalone category “Photograph of the Decade.” A cash prize will be awarded to the winner of this category. These submissions are not eligible for other awards in the show. Photograph of the Decade entries must have been photographed after January 1, 2007.
