Third Degree Glass Glass Factory announces Call for Entries:
Top Gear: Speed, Sport, and Splendid. An exhibit showcasing the beauty and style classic and classic-to-be cars. Brit Hits such as MGs, Triumphs, Morgans, Martins, Healeys, Jaguars, and Rolls are of special interest.
Exhibit Dates: June 21 July 16, 2013
Opens during Third Friday Free Party: June 21, 6 10p
Program includes: English car meetup, glassblowing demonstrations, ice cream tasting, and live music.
Eligible artwork:
-Media: Paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, glass, ceramics, and more. All media considered.
-Original artwork. Not done under instruction.
-Work must be ready to hang or display on pedestals.
Artist Selection: 8-10 artists will be selected and invited to exhibit car-themed artwork that captures beautiful style and artistic flair of classic or soon-to-be classic cars. Brit Hits will be especially welcome. Selected artists will receive more details re: exhibiting, times and dates of interest, etc.
How to enter: Email anne@stlglass.com with Subj: Top Gear. In your email message, provide short description of media, artwork, contact info. Attach 2-3 jpegs. Title jpgs with initial of first name and then your last name. Example amuphy1.jpg, amurphy2.jpg, etc.
Submissions accepted March 2 April 10.
Tentative Schedule:
March 2. Submission opens.
April 10. Submission closes.
April 12. Artists notified by email.
June 19. Artwork to be dropped off for installation.
June 21. Opening
July 17. Artwork de-installed and retrieved.
FYI: Liability and Insurance: While reasonable precautions are taken to safeguard artwork. Third Degree does not insure work submitted for exhibition. Artists are encouraged to insure their own artwork.
