Call for Work: Deadline 4 September 2012

Missouri Immigrant & Refugee Advocates (MIRA) is seeking photographers from across Missouri to submit work, in either color or black & white, that celebrates the diversity of Missouri's communities.

The exhibit, New Faces, New Places: the Missouri Immigrant Experience, will begin at the Old North Restoration Community Center (2700 N. 14th Street, Saint Louis, Missouri). MIRA will host an opening reception on Friday, November 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., and the show will continue through December 9, 2012. In 2013, the exhibit will travel to Springfield, Kansas City, and Columbia; venues and dates to be announced.

Photographers interested in participating are asked to submit a completed entry form and 12 to 15 photographs, in high resolution jpg, by the close of business on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. There is no entry fee for this show.

MIRA's jury reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the eligibility of the work. Photographers selected for the exhibit will receive an honorarium of $500 for their photos and retain 50 percent of profits (sale price minus printing and framing costs) from the sale of any individual print. In return, MIRA will have the right to publish photos submitted for the exhibit.

MIRA will notify photographers of their selection for the show no later than Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
