"Under Pressure" Exhibition Series
SGC International Reception: Thursday, March 17, 2011 6pm to 8pm
"Under Pressure" is an exhibition series showcasing contemporary print works. The five exhibits in this series will emphasize the ever-expanding world of printmaking. Highlights include a solo exhibition and workshop by Dan Welden, innovator and guru of the Solarplate printmaking process, and Past Present, an exhibit of international artists exploring the language of printmaking's past to reveal ideas about the past or future, curated by Printeresting founders Jason Urban, Amze Emmons and R.L. Tillman.

The exhibits in Under Pressure are:
- "Past Present:" an exhibition highlighting the history of print as it is reflected in contemporary printmaking practices, curated by Printeresting, the "thinking person's favorite online resource for printmaking miscellany."
- "Etchings by Stan Gellman"
- "Going Solar:" a juried exhibition spotlighting the solarplate fine art printmaking process. Juried by Dan Welden.
- "Hybrid Works," a solo exhibition by Dan Welden
- "Prints by the students of the John Burroughs School" (in the Children's Gallery)
