Nancy Anne Underwood graduated from Webster University in 1990 from the School of Communications. In 1993, her growing career in photography ended when she was tragically killed in a car accident. Her husband, David Underwood ’88, established the Nancy Anne Underwood Scholarship Fund to honor her memory and her love of photography.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be a full-time Webster University student who will be of junior or senior status in the 2010-2011 academic year, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in photography in the School of Communications.
- All applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- All applicants must have a FAFSA on file in Webster’s financial aid office and be eligible to receive financial aid.
Application Requirements:
- A portfolio consisting of ten of your best photographs. All types of photographic work will be accepted for consideration. A panel of judges selected by the University will review your work. The panel will consist of three professionals in the visual arts, no more than one of whom will be a full-time faculty member of the University.
- A personal statement addressing why you should be chosen to receive the Nancy Anne Underwood Scholarship. Discuss your photographic objectives in your essay. The statement should be typed, double spaced essay of at least 150 words.
