Call for Work: Deadline 22 March 2009

Soulard Art Market and Contemporary Gallery invites artists to submit works exploring our urban landscape as we awaken from winter's slumber and welcome spring in the latest exhibit Urban Awakening. The pieces for this show will be selected by guest curator Kate Poss of Art St. Louis and Washington University.

-March 22, 2009 - Deadline for submissions
-March 27, 2009 - Accepted Artists Notification
-April 4 & 5, 2009 - drop-off date for accepted works 12 pm till 6 pm Acceptance fee of $30 payable in cash.
-April 10, 2009 – Urban Awakening Opening
Casual preview - 7pm to 10pm
-April 11, 2009 – Urban Awakening Opening
Formal Reception - 7pm to 10pm
-May 3rd, 2009 -- Art pick-up 12-6pm

Submission Guidelines:
* Submission is FREE!
* We are looking for all forms of art, styles and points of view
* 2D work should be no larger than 4ft x 4ft in total. Must be framed and ready for hanging.
* Sculpture should be no taller than 6ft and must have a stand or be displayable on a 10" deep windowsill.
* All artwork for consideration must be submitted via JPEG/JPG image.
* An accompanying e-mail must include title/media/measurements, contact e-mail, address, and phone number. Please describe displays if applicable.
* File size for each work cannot exceed 500kb, JPEG Files should be named as such: Artists Name_Name of Piece_Dimensions. jpg (John Smith_Artwork1_ 16x20.jpg)

All submissions are to be received no later than March 22, 2009 at 6pm CST for consideration.
Accepted artists will be contacted by email.
There will be no commission; artists will retain 100% of sales.
Accepted artists must submit an operational costs fee of $30.
