Art St. Louis: Deadline 30 December 2006

“City As Art”: January 22-March 2, 2007.

All media* (*no web-based or cd rom, no ceiling installed work) juried exhibit. Open to St. Louis regional artists 21+ residing within a 200-mile radius of St. Louis. Juried from actual artwork, limit 2, created in last 2 years (2004-2006).

For “City As Art,” Art Saint Louis seeks original artworks that examine Samuel Johnson’s quote, “A great city is. . . the school for studying.” Works submitted for this exhibit should explore urban life, people and/or the built environment.

Juried by Shannon Fitzgerald, Chief Curator, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and artist Bob Hansman, Associate Professor, Washington University School of Architecture.

Entry fees are non-refundable and are used toward the production of this exhibition. $15 current Art Saint Louis members; $25 non-members; or $5 with NEW $45 Artist Level Membership=$50 total.

Pre-registration deadline: December 30, 2006. Artwork delivered for jurying: January 5-6, 2007. Entry form required--available by e-mail (as pdf) or mail (send #10 SASE to City as Art, Art Saint Louis, 917 Locust St., #300, St. Louis, MO 63101-1413).

Free opening reception Saturday, January 20, 2007, 7-9 p.m.
